Great to start - then stuffing sunk down like any pillow

Reviewer:  Heather  (Vancouver, Canada)  See all my reviews

It was great in the beginning, but as I have been using it more - the stuffing has become compact and therefore less full. As a result, I keep adding more water. I'm pretty sure I have exceeded the limit of water that should go in - and I may regret it!

Awesome pillow...not a rock!

The previous review stated it felt like a rock...obviously they put too much water in there! The beauty of this pillow is that you can adjust the firmness by removing or adding water. I love mine but after a while the padding (just like all other pillows) does start to wear out. My hubby went back to his old foam thing. It takes a while to get used to the slosh sound...don't care how much you try to get the air out of the water cavity you just can't get it all. But after a while you don't hear it and it is extremely comfortable.

However, I do also like my therapeutic pillow. I need a firm base with very soft cushion around and that is what I liked about this pillow. My downside is the padding wearing out and the fact that it is difficult to find just the right amount of water to meet your needs.

I do recommend this pillow to others.

Water Pillow

Reviewer:  BMDS  See all my reviews

My boyfriend had bought two water pillows prior to dating me. He raved about how good they were and how great they were for you. The first night I used it I HATED it! It feels like you are sleeping on a rock covered with a little padding! You can't move it around through out the night because how heavy it is. The heaviness is also inconvient when you are making the bed. I had to have him lift them off the bed cause how heavy they were. We tried opening them back up to let some water out and couldn't get either open. Every morning after I used this pillow I got up with a headache. It was annoying headache that lasted through out the day. I finally couldn't take it anymore and told him I was going to bye a new pillow for myself. After all his claims and raves about this pillow he said "Oh can you get me one too this thing feels like sleeping on a rock!" Don't waste your money!

Give it a try!

Reviewer:  Brian Minnesota  (Minneapolis, MN)  See all my reviews

I am a physical therapist and saw this product in one of our therapy books. I gave it a try because I was having neck pain every few months for a few days. My coworkers were getting sick of treating me! I bought the pillow and filled it up a little more than the directions suggested.

It works great. My neck felt so much better. I even recommend it to all of my neck patients.

To fit the pillow properly just make sure that when laying on your back or side, the pillow is filled up enough to keep your spine straight (have someone look at you spine, as you might feel straight). ***Never sleep on your stomach, it is bad for your neck.

My only complaint is the pillow gets heavy with all the water.

I LOVE this pillow and will recommned it to anyone!!!

This pillow is OK...but only just OK

We originally purchased this pillow for my husband, who has spinal stenosis in his neck and for the past 20 years has used a plain foam cervical (contour) pillow. Because we can no longer find plain foam cervical pillows, we decided to try the Mediflow pillow. We spent nearly 3 weeks tinkering with the water fill amount and were never able to find a comfortable level for him. Furthermore, he suffered a string of 5 migraines during this period. We finally gave up and are now looking again for a plain foam cervical pillow.

Meanwhile, not wanting to throw away a $50 pillow, I decided to try it myself. I am a side sleeper and have great difficulty finding pillows with sufficient loft to keep my neck in the correct position. The problem with the Mediflow pillow is that adding water does not increase the *loft*, it merely increases the *firmness* of the support. So, while I am successfully using the Mediflow pillow for now, the truth is it, for me, is simply a moderately-firm pillow without sufficient loft to keep my neck in a neutral position. I probably will eventually switch to a traditional pillow with high loft. (The best pillow for side sleepers used to be the Beautyrest Ultimate Support, but sadly this pillow was discontinued several years ago.)

Unless you are truly desperate for a pillow with adjustable firmness, I wouldn't recommend the Mediflow. It's basically just a very expensive gadget. We certainly won't be buying another one.

What's the big fuss about?

Reviewer:  Teresa M. Stewart  (Norton, Kansas)  See all my reviews

I guess I just don't get it. It is a nice pillow, but I don't feel the water does anything for me. and of course it makes your pillow heavy, and you hear the sloshing water (I can't get every little bubble out). I liked it as much as I like any pillow when it is new. the one good thing is that when the poly fill flattens out, you can add more water so you're not sleeping on a pancake. So, as far as pillows go, it is great. but as far as $45 pillows go, I guess I can only give it 2 stars. Wish I would have only bought one and tested it before buying the second.

The best pillow I've ever had! A radiologist from 'Nawlins

I've bought therapeutic pillows out the wazoo and this is the final one, its great! Its so comfortable that I don't need to keep adjusting it to get to sleep - and I wake up refreshed and without neck pain.
I read CT scans, etc, on a computer monitor for long hours and I've had neck stiffness for years. It really got sore after several days of work and my sleep was less and less peaceful the more I worked.
This pillow has made a tremendous difference. I had to buy another for my husband since he tried to borrow it many times after using it once for a nap!
Well worth the price.

Really helps you rest~comfortably!!

Reviewer:  Well Rested Mom!  See all my reviews

I am a younger mom of 3 who was in a pretty severe car accident and had many, many injuries including a broken neck! After many sleepless nights, my chiropractor suggested the use of this pillow and I have slept very soundly since then! It is a terrific pillow and I highly recommned it to everyone! My whole family loves it too!!

This is the best pillow I have tried

Reviewer:  Happy Sleeper  (Phoenix)  See all my reviews

I sometimes have trouble sleeping from occasional neck pain and this not only keeps my neck free from pain but it is the most comfortable pillow I have used. I like how it is just a regular shape and not a wedge or "u" or something like that. I also found that when I have a spell with acid reflux I can put some extra water in for a few nights and it elevates my head until my prescription medicine relieves the reflux condition. I use the down version but my doctor (who recommended it) uses the polyester version and he said he likes it too.
