Down is collected when geese are in their molting process.

It is very easy to clean and take care of a down pillow. What you should know is that if you clean them very often they'll last longer. What you should also take into consideration is that it is for the best that you wash them with an oil-removing detergent in cold water. After you do that you should squeeze out the water and then put the down pillow into the drier. It is advised that you always put the pillow into the pillowcase. The pillowcase should be washed and changed very often. Some say that it is better if you have a zippered one inside and a regular one on the top of it in order to keep it away from dirt, oil and dust. You should also remember that when you don't use the pillow you should keep it in a dry and cool place.
